Hi, Steemit friends! I wanted to share with you one of my favorite small towns, Page, Arizona. It is a fun little town with great food, surrounded by some of the most photographed landmarks.

Lower Antelope Canyon

Antelope Canyon is located on Navajo land and you must have a guide to enter. You enter through a very narrow slot in the ground, hardly even noticeable as you approach. The guide will lead you down a series of stairs and ladders until you are around fifty feet underground.20150407_101809.jpg

The canyon corkscrews back and forth where the runoff water has covered unique statues, spiral arches and caves into the rock. It is truly an amazing sight!

Another great landmark to visit is Horseshoe Bend

Horseshoe Bend is located 5 miles downstream from Geln Canyon Dam. Just head south on highway 89 to milepost 544. There is a gravel parking lot and it is just over a mile hike to the lookout. Horseshoe Bend is a 270 degree bend carved by the Colorado River, the lookout provides an amazing opportunity to see the full bend, the view point sits at 4,200ft above sea level making it about 1,000ft above the river. There is no fencing or safety precautions and very strong winds making it a potentially dangerous place.

I love visiting Page and look forward to traveling there in the spring.
