The lake of sto pema to Rewalsar state of Himachal Pradesh India
It all starts with a love story as always!
Padmasambhava whoever brings Buddhism to Tibet
His birth is miraculous, he will take several aspects before staying in tibet
Padmasambhava in Rewalsar wants to marry the daughter of the king of this region. Unhappy the king decides to burn Padmasambhava, arrested Guru Rinpoche and Mandarava “the princess” and burned him alive, but he transformed the pye into a lake, and was found sitting, cool and fresh, on a lotus blossom in its centre. This lake is considered to be the Rewalsar Lake, ‘Tso Pema’.
The lake is sacred for all religion from India, Hindus, Sikh and Buddhists. It's a place of peace. At the top of the village there are meditation caves or some great yogis are still indoors often in total darkness, to meditate many years to access the total awakening
To come to sto pema you have to spend a night in Delhi and sleep in the Tibetan quarter Majnu-ka-tilla, many agencies offer the trip by bus only.
If you stay in Delhi I suggest you always sleep in Majnu-Ka-Tilla, first it's cheaper, it's a quiet area and you will be immersed in the Tibetan culture
