Athens, Greece In the morning and At night

Nothing quite like the burning summer sun of Greece at the beach in the morning. It's relentless, high and burning hot.

The Mediterranean Sea manages to stay somewhat cool for refreshers here and there. Beaches are mostly empty especially weekdays. It's a crazy place full of contrasts mostly fueled by the hot money fueled credit boom from 2000-2010 and the engineered popping of that same credit bubble since 2010. Then again the only thing the Greeks I meet seem to worry about is 'do we have any white wine left?' and 'where can we get a Frappe?'.

This is a drink accidentally invented by a Nescafe rep in the 70s in which he combined Nescafe instant coffee, water, sugar and ice. Sounds horrible but it's tasty as hell :).

At night the city is a small version of that City of Lights we all know from the movies. Especially from the beautiful mountains surrounding the city you can take some great shots. This one was managed with a 30 second exposure with the cam resting on a rock (no tripod at hand).

Have a great day Steemians!

Thanks! Funny thing is most pictures I'm taking are for some reason not turning out so well which is probably due to human error - I just can't function in the heat and manage the camera settings correctly. These two I liked so I figured worth sharing :).

Nice pictures, I’m following you now.

Thank you! Glad you like them.
