Hi Steemians!
I want to share with you today some impressions from a trip to the UAE. I have seen a lot of mosques in the world but this one is one of the grandest mosques I have ever seen. The level of detail was amazing and everywhere I looked I saw something new that I hadn't noticed before. Really incredible. Sometimes the contrast between them building it in an old style and stuff like automatic doors seemed a bit strange but all in all a very impressive architecture and construction.
That is the inner Court Yard with Minaret. The courtyard, with its floral design, measures about 17,000 m² and is largest marble mosaic in the world.
This chandelier is from Germany that incorporate millions of Swarovski crystals and is the largest chandelier in the world. This picture was taken at dusk.
The Marble floor is decorated with wonderful flower patterns.
The carpet in the main prayer hall is an handmade Persian carpet and is the world's largest carpet. This carpet measures 5,627 m² . The weight of this carpet is 35 ton.
That is the front and entrance of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque.
The leaves on the columns are made of gold.
If you plan to go there, it is required to wear a veil before you enter but you can get one for free if you don't have one :).
