Travel the world #12

Today with Girona. If you like old towns with history this is a nice place to be. Girona is a bit away from the sea but it has a little river passing by. It is a place where you can make some nice pictures from the townside with its beautiful colors. And the curches and cathedrals in the back. It is a great combination. On the corner of the Pont de les Peixateries Velles where I took the picture is a world famous ice cafe Rocambolesc is the name. I visited it once and it was wonderful.

If you want to visit the cathedrals, be sure that you are fit enough. The old town is placed on a small hill. With its stairways and small streets you have a lot to walk and to see.

But if you reached the top it is a great view over Girona and on the cathedrals.

Also outside of the city walls are some more things to see and to find. A monastery just around the corner or an old castle. All possible to walk there. If the weather is nice. Most of the time it is. Girona is a visit worth. And you dont need a car if you came along with the train. It tooks 38 Minutes from Barcelona Sants. That is quick for over 100km distance.

What a wonderful view on the city. Thank you for posting more than one picture! More than one image really gives an idea of a place, and one image is just not enough. I like that there are multiple things to do in this city, and it's not the most popular place, but it's a place that I have actually had on my list of places I'd like to see. It seems like it wouldn't be too crowded with tourists either - I like that.
