My sister, brother-in-law, and I decided to go on a little vacation together and see some places we hadn't all explored in the past. After meeting up at my place in north Idaho, we headed for Spokane and then west on highway 2. Wheat fields and range land abound, and not much else except for grain elevators
This picture was taken at a rest stop west of the little town of Davenport. As you can see, it was a lovely day for a drive.
This photo and the next three were shot out the window while driving, so please pardon any blurs or reflections! We are still trying to decide what mountains we were seeing off in the distance. Possibly Lilienthal Mountain.
Eventually, our route wound down off the high plateau of farmland to the wide Columbia River. We crossed it at the base of Banks Lake, a 27-mile long reservoir behind Grand Coulee Dam.
This impressive rimrock is located near the town of Orondo, where we crossed the winding Columbia River a second time.
