I am finally getting around to posting about the Key West trip I recently went on with my girlfriend and her family! The main reasons for the trip were two-fold.
- It was Morgan's dad's 40th high school reunion.
- It was Morgan's parents anniversary
For some reason, they decided to take Morgan's parents decided to take their kids and Sevin along for the ride. I was pumped to be able to go on this trip as I have never been to Key West. My parents tell me that I have been to Key West since they claim I was conceived there, but I have never counted as being there!
The drive from Tallahassee to Key West is a solid 10-12 hours depending on what time you leave and how bad the traffic is along the way.
Here is the 6 foot shark Morgan's brother caught on 20 lb test, which is quite a feat. He fought the shark for nearly 45 minutes.
Another picture of Morgan and I with our favorite hats!
Probably the most touristy thing I did all week was go to the Southernmost Point of the Continental United States.
First night in Key West. Made it to Mallory Square just in time for a beautiful sunset!
All over the island there were hens and roosters everywhere! I have been a chicken lover for years and would take pictures whenever I could!
Morgan's great-grandfather, Bernie Papy, was a big reason that Key West is what it is today! We found him in the bust garden downtown.
Yes, it is always 5 o'clock somewhere!
While in Key West we lived on a boat! I did not get sunburned too badly except for the first day!
We found a conch shell, but could not keep it since there was a conch inside!
One of the best meals I have had in a long time was at Bliss in Key West! It just so happens that one of my sisters is named Bliss!
Don't believe me, check out our meal below:
The kids (Sevin, Morgan, Mason, Jacob) getting ready to hit Duval Street
As we passed by the Southernmost Point the first time, Morgan's dad ran into a buddy who sells coconut water so we had to pick one up!
Never been. Looks like fun! 😁
