Animals in the city

One of the things that made a big impression on me in Plovdiv were the cats.

Everywhere in Bulgaria there are street cats, and often they look terrible - skinny, hungry and shabby. Barely surviving. But here, in Plovdiv, things are different.

I recently mentioned this in a comment here - in Bulgaria there is this expression, "as fat as a monastery cat". But the thing is that the cats I saw on the streets in Plovdiv were "as fat as monastery cats".
And not only this. They are very communicative, friendly and brave.
And here's a curious situation I photographed for proof.

This is happening in the center of the city, at one of the archaeological excavations. There were two big cats and a couple of foreigners. One cat, fat and with long hair, was doing something down in the excavation while the couple and the ginger cat watched it from above.
There was no way I could not take a picture of this unusual sight.
The three above looked like a family or something.
But I tell you that such a thing can hardly be seen in Bulgaria, where animals are generally quite stressed. They are afraid of people, they don't trust anyone, etc., it is difficult to photograph birds, for example here, anywhere. But this city disproves it.

And here are two more pictures of two pigeons who are not only unafraid of the artificial crow placed there to scare them, but also unafraid of me when I got close enough to photograph them.

So they feel it too. This city is probably a good place to live.

steem.jpgSoul's Detour is a project started by me years ago when I had a blog about historical and not so popular tourist destinations in Eastern Belgium, West Germany and Luxembourg. Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you.

Personally, I am a sensitive soul with a strong sense of justice.
Traveling and photography are my greatest passions.
Sounds trivial to you?
No, it's not trivial. Because I still love to travel to not so famous destinations.🗺️
Of course, the current situation does not allow me to do this, but I still find a way to satisfy my hunger for knowledge, new places, beauty and art.
Sometimes you can find the most amazing things even in the backyard of your house.😊🧐🧭|

Really nice photos you got here, look really nice... The Pigeons really caught my attention as they are up there in my list of favorite birds :)
