Introduction from a normal guy on a strange journey.

We were living in suburbia and I had a corporate job until 2012 when we collectively took leave of our senses. What did we do? you might ask. We bought a converted school bus and hit the road trying to make a living as a family bluegrass band. I am the guy in the middle. I played the upright bass and was the least talented of the group. The kids were the real musicians. We played at fairs, festivals, libraries, resorts and similar venues.

We made a go of it for almost 5 years when the kids needed to start college.
The band was our only source of income and we had only the bus to live in. Talk about flying without a safety net. We traveled through and performed in roughly 40 states. It was a great adventure.

We are off the road now and getting established in a community again.

I am excited to plunge into Steem and look forward to reading and providing some interesting content.

Some of my interests, concerns and passions that I will draw from are below.
    *  Alternative modes of living
    *  Sustainable energy
    *  Disruptive technologies
    *  Income inequality
    * What to do when robots take our jobs?

We are fortunate to live in such an amazing time. The future is filled with such promise and not an inconsiderable amount of peril. Here's hoping we can muddle our way through.

Welcome to Steemit! Where are you based now? That seems like a lifetime adventure!

I'm in Northern Virginia. That adventure is over but I learned that I want to RV fulltime in retirement.
