Khanom jeen nam ya is a main dish in the everyday Thai diet and khanom jeen street food vendors are always packed with customers. The fresh rice noodles in khanom jeen serves as the base for different types of sauces to top off. Most common in my home is the Thai fish curry sauce as seen in the pictures. It's always served with a variety of fresh, raw vegetables & herbs such as basil & fried chilies are bitten with each bite. Super healthy raw vegetables like cucumbers, bean sprouts, pennywort leaves, Chinese long beans, just to name a few. Boiled eggs are optional but are a great addition to the meal.

Each bite hits your omami and salty taste buds from the Thai fish curry sauce and the raw vegetables test your bitter taste buds. An occasional pickled mustard greens will excite your sour taste buds, which is a super plus when eaten together. With the dried fried chili, each bite is spicy and bring excitement to any meal. If you ever visit Thailand, make sure you find the nearest khanom jeen restaurant and give all the different khanom jeen sauces a try.
