Do I have any English Steemians in the building?! How the hell do you deal with sunlight hours???
Daylight hours are ridiculous here. On the Summer Solstice in a few days, the land will be lit for a total of 16 hours and 26 minutes. That's not including the twilight hours on each side where the sky is still light before the sun is more than 18 degrees below the horizon.
I have been struggling with this as I like to be an early riser. However I also need a decent amount of sleep. I am the most productive in the mornings and I find that if I go to bed when its dark here and get up nice and early (when its light), that ends up being <8 hours of sleep.
So I've been going to bed around 9-10pm and getting up around 5am. I see two options from here on in;
- Go to bed later, get less sleep at night, but nap in the day.
- Go to bed at a normal time and just have a massive sleep in!
I think what I am going to have to do, is just stay up later and wake up later. At the moment I am currently helping a friend at work. But after that, I will just have to be a later riser. Let's hope that I can be just as productive getting up later. The other thing is that cafes don't open until 9am at the earliest here! So there is actually nothing to do that early in the morning aside from go for a nice walk (which I have been doing a lot of!).
The other thing I've been missing out on is sunsets. I want to start getting some beautiful beachy sunset timelapses. We were out for brunch this morning and some artwork on the wall has me inspired!
