Enter Into An Enchanted Forest - Mother Nature's Wonderland

"Little Rock City"
NY State Park

Take a journey with me into this magical, enchanted forest as I share a little slice of heaven with you.

Deep in the woods of the Southern tier in New York State dwells a place called "Little Rock City." After driving up into the mountain for quite some time you come upon an area in the forest that takes you back in time.

The ground is split open with crevices everywhere. These were formed during the mountains building events, known as orogenies. This had happened over hundreds of years to form these deep crevices. I saw many that were over 20' deep and 1 - 3 foot or more wide. You literally had to find a narrow place to run and jump across the crevice if you wanted to continue along the beautiful forest paths

Follow below, to enjoy some of the photos I took while taking a nature walk with my husband.

Ferns, moss and gnarly roots covered the forest floor creating an atmosphere filled with #magicalmoments everywhere you looked.

Thank you for stopping by my post, I hope you enjoyed my visit to the Little Rock City park.
Until next time, this is Sunscape...

I LOVE going to national forests. Some of the most beautiful places in the world!

I totally agree, the parks always have some hidden treasures within them.

Mmmmmm Hmmmmmm
Great to see you enjoying the outdoors!

It was an amazing place @quineaker have a great Sunday

You too!
Enjoying my own little Eden Forest today ;-)>

Yes. So grateful that some of the most beautiful places are still protected. To be experienced, enjoyed and appreciated now by more and more people.

Yes, we need a lot more nature protection otherwise it will all be destroyed by big corporations.

I'm hoping to go to Tasmania next year as part of a campaign to save the 'Tarkine' which is one of the most diverse wilderness areas of Australia.

For the last 3 years, over 150 artists in all fields of creativity have gathered for 3-5 days, and inspired by the land/seascape, create in their respective medium.

Their creations are documented and presented as a book along with an exhibition that tours Australia: Cities and country regions. Need people initiatives like this to show what we stand to lose if protections aren't in place.

wow that sounds fantastic!
And what great steemit articles it will make!
Keep us posted!

Such a wonderful collection of images to share the #magicalmoments of your day at Little Rock City with. Mosses and ferns, tree roots and rocks: Delightful to the eye. Can sense the beauty of the place with all it's hidden delights. Resteemed.

Oh it was so magical, I only wish I had known you could camp there, I would have stayed for the weekend just to sit and meditate for hours in those beautiful surroundings. It truly was magical

On the 'next time' list now. About to go to one of my most magical bushland places. So looking forward to being like a lizard and basking in the winter sunshine too.

Do you know about @barbara-orenya's tag #BeautifulDay. This article would be perfect. Still playing 'catch-up' but hope to share something there soon.

Have a wonderful rest of the weekend @sunscape.

The oldness just radiates . Looks like somewhere to get lost in for a few hours .

I am so glad you enjoyed it, I have more to share another time though. I have never seen a forest covered in moss like that before. It was so peaceful, yet more than that. The crevices were all lined with ferns and plant life. So cool!
