Hello! :) I went to this city and I feel in love! So beautiful and lots of history behind.

Provins is a small village 90km from Paris, I took 1h by train and you can use your Navigo Metro 5 zones on weekends and holidays for FREE. How cool is that?! :) SNCF trains to Provins leave from Gare de l’Est train station.

I was there in November so the landscape was a little different as you can see now:

That is the main square, you can find many restaurants, bars and hotels. Most of the shops and restaurants sell things made by rose petals, they are very proud of it and taste delicious.

You can also visit the amazing little castle.

Provins has what they call the upper town, the lower town and the underground town. They have under the street levels with km and km of subterranean galleries and cool stuff!

In order to protect the town in the pass, Provins got fortified. The amazing ramparts were built between IXth and XIIIth centuries, with different towers and gates. Today we can still see 1.200 meters of the original ramparts and 22 towers.

Beautiful pictures. I wish i could see a castle.:(

I wish that too! :) You will one day!

As someone who loves castles and forts, I must say - this looks rather interesting. I'll keep it in mind if I get to visit Paris in the near future :)
