Me In PHD.

My first expedition jacket. Peter Hutchinson Designs (PHD) custom builds expedition wear for the harshest environs of this world. This particular jacket is rated to -20 degrees Farenheit - and only weighs a bit over a pound. When you are climbing thousands of feet up in a day every pound starts to matter. And when you stop and the mercury plummets this parka does the job it was made for.

I hope my effort is worthy of it.

My Steemit explorer friends, I am sorry I have been so late in replying; I have been up in the hills for much of this time. I promise to check back in again soon...

To my Steemit explorer friends,

I have probably taken over a million photographs of the natural world since childhood; this is a daily series of some of those I most treasure.

Where They are From

  1. Many are from an organic orchard that I created on the hill above my home. When you are raising trees from saplings you are out in all weather at all hours and see remarkable things.
  1. Some are from my art studio and my efforts there- especially those on behalf of the Tibetan people.
  1. Still others are from my wanderings in the wilderness with compass and map my companions. Many are featured from posts I have created here on Steemit and I will link to those whenever possible if you wish to read more of the how, when and where.

Please upvote if you liked this post, and follow for more journeys through our mysterious and amazing world. And please comment as I greatly value these and will answer any questions you may have (and generally go to look at your posts of course since I consider a group of friends the most valuable possible outcome from efforts on Steemit.

Good morning friend! Enjoy travel

Thanks my friend! I'm back now, at least for a little while! :)

no problem, take your time have a rest, and come back stronger. : )

Thanks my friend! :)

Can this jacket be useful for expedition to everest where the temp is -50 i think.

Anyway great looks in the pic.

Thank you

No not Everest. This is more for local training in the Northeast, the Rockies in Colorado and the Sierras in California. PHD makes parkas that can go to -70 degrees for places like the summit of Everest and Antarctica ("Omega" model). I will probably obtain the "Xero" model in the near future. It is rated to -40 degrees F. With additional clothing it would be enough for an Everest summit bid.

you have a wonderful look in the photo uploaded by you and i like ur id name "throughmyeyes"
