As far back as I can remember, I've always had a fascination with Japanese culture and the beauty they find in nature and gardening. After having relocated to Houston 3 years ago, a friend of mine told me about the Japanese gardens in Herman Park. It was slightly overcast and cooler than usual for a typical South Texas summer, but nothing I encountered on this day was of the norm for the urban sprawling city of Houston. A tranquil setting tucked deep in the heart of the city.
