This time it will be "colder"

From Russia with love

It's September 2016 when I decide, this year I will celebrate my birthday in Russia.
I don't plan too long, just the 2-3 weeks that I need to wait for my Visa and I'm there, the second biggest city in the country, the most beautiful one, St. Petersburg.

A Birthday in St. Petersburg

This time it's not the usual hostel travel, I will meet a friend there and the city center's rooms are really cheap in the Russian metropolis.
Let's start from the beginning.
I have to admit that this was one of the hardest travels I ever did. Because I don't speak Russian and few people there speak English. More than this, everything written looks like this: "Я знал, что вы хотите перевести это"...

As soon as I'm out from the international airport I feel quite lost, you're surrounded by unofficial taxis, people speaking an incomprehensible language and the worst of all, I have no internet connection!
I decide to book my taxi inside the airport and pay directly there, speaking a comfortable English. I go out and I see my taxi number. End of the social communications, the forty minutes run are all in showing the young driver the address on my unconnected phone.
Anyway, I arrive at the hotel where the nice (and really pretty) girl at the hall explains to me where to buy a local SIM card.
I don't know how I do it and I'm back full power, the internet is in my hands again, anything worries me anymore!

I'm now able to communicate to my friend that I'm fine and arrived safely.
When she arrives we decide to have the first walk around the city, the hotel's room is close to the Nevskij Prospekt, the huge main and busy street in the center of the town.

It's the first time I leave the city where I live (Karlsruhe, Germany) to find a colder place! The night arrives much later than in the south of Europe and surrounds us with his beauty.
