Elephants shackled at Elephant Breeding Ground in Chitwan

I’m a little bit conflicted about what I saw here. The place is proud of what they do. They increase the elephant population. The problem is they keep them shackled and they break them to be ridden and do work. The Elephants spend much of their long life standing here. They looked so depressed. I felt like I was at an elephant prison. I saw the mahouts hit their elephants with sticks as they rode them down the streets. They keep a chain around their neck that they tug on as well.

It would be better if they gave them a big area of land to roam around within and let them be.

Sorry I went a bit low resolution crazy. I was worried about getting it uploaded.

I refused to support any of those business that use animals that are supposed to be wild (tigers, elephants, monkeys) to make money.
If you felt it was like an elephant prison, you were probably right!

happy to see u are animals lover me 2 friend😊

How exactly are they doing the elephants a favour? They are saved so that they can be held captive and do work? This is awful...

Yeah, I don’t like it either. But they look at them like we look at pack mules. They’re useful.
