It wasn't that long ago that there were just 4 countries remaining on the planet that didn't require some sort of vaccination proof in order to hang out and enjoy yourselves while visiting, now we are down to just one. You can still travel to a bunch of countries if you are unvaccinated by providing negative PCR tests but I wouldn't plan on being able to have much fun in them because where you are allowed to go is going to be severely limited.

The above article was written by a news source so the picture is unrelated. While I can't say for certain, I would be willing to bet that the population is not as elated about this as the above stock image would suggest.
It is a bit odd that after November 16th, unvaccinated people as of now will still be allowed to enter Colombia, they just wont be able to go anywhere outside of their resort. Just like with The Dominican Republic, places of tourism are meant to be exempt but there are reports of people in the DR being denied entry to restaurants and pubs that are not contained inside of their resort.
Things you are not allowed to do without proof of vaccination in Colombia after November 16th include.
- Restaurants
- Bars
- sports centers
- events
- places of leisure
- and the last one, which is the most ominous, is "public and private establishments"
Public and private establishments could be applicable to just about anywhere, so if your future plans included some travel to Colombia and you are not vaccinated, you might want to rethink your plans.
I have a friend who is currently living in Colombia and I have contacted him to let me know if this is just public relations or if the country genuinely will enforce this. It is quite common in Central America and the Caribbean for various laws to be enacted by the government that go largely ignored by the public outside of major metro areas.
So I guess we'll have to wait and see what this really means in about a month but for now, I would steer clear of Colombia unless you are vaccinated.
