Forget About Traveling By Bus, You Might Be Able To Travel By Hotel Room In The FuturesteemCreated with Sketch.

You might be thinking that title doesn't make any sense. How can I travel by hotel room? What is this Portal? Nope it is a hyperloop, a tube that launches a pod from one end to the other. And if the tube is big enough, then the pod can be as a big as a hotel room. Or at least that is the idea for the "Hyperloop Hotel" which would see 13 hotels connected by these tubes so you can travel between them. This is still a long ways off and still in concept (the student won the radical innovation award for it) but it is something to think about it.

This would be a great way to travel. You could chill in your hotel room in one city, watch some tv or get some rest and wake up in another city. It is not needed technically, you could just sleep on the bus, but it would be cool. I would be hesitant to try it at first, I'm sure if it happens it will go through a battery of tests and be proven to be safe but the idea of being launched through a tube is a little unsettling. Though we are standing on Earth, which is spinning incredibly fast, as we don't feel that at all, so it would probably be the same as you are sitting in your pod watching television.

The other issue would be aesthetics. This is a literal tube that has to cover enough land to cross cities, or maybe even countries (especially in Europe). If the tube is above ground you would see a long tube that would have to be built between buildings and other things in the way. Then there is the option to go underground, but with subways and sewers that has to be getting pretty packed. You can go deeper but how safe would that be? Is there anyone with knowledge of structural design that can add more to this topic?

Here is the article with more details if you are interested, it even has the price for a night to stay and travel, $1,200 (these details probably helped to win the contest):

I do not know if we would see these anytime soon, but if we did, would you be cool travelling through a tube?

The future is great dont worry about the global warming hoax.

Only if the future was closer than we know it . These seems a little far

Yeah like 5 - 10 years. Building alone would take a lot of time.

This is going to kick ass! I'll probably have to do a lot of traveling and driving next month and that would have come handy ;)

It wold be a pretty sweet way to travel.

Indeed :)

That would be a great future :D !!! thanks for sharing will follow you ! STEEM ON !!!

Thanks :)

That would be pretty nice.

Future generations will study our current 'transportation methods' in their history lessons!

What is this thing you call a bus????

And why would someone sit on it for over 7 hours??

And it made stops in between???

Why would anyone do that to themselves?! Crazy modernists...

:D that would be great :P
