in travel •  7 years ago

From a very young I was curious, different places. If in that walk I discovered an oasis in the middle of the Peruvian desert, where the dune buggies fly over the sand up to 700 feet high, that oasis in the desert is called Huacachina, and when you get to the mysterious green lagoon fringed with palms , you'll think you're seeing a mirage.

What should I do in HUACACHINA?

The first is a buggy and sand Board excursion:
to get to Huacachina, you will hear the constant sound of buggys engines, which are basically gutted 4x4 turned into monster trucks transformers made for sand. They roar around the city all day, and although there are many companies that offer these rides.

The buggy excursions are super fun, but I wasn't prepared for how exciting it was going to be. When our driver put the pedestal on the metal while advanced almost in a straight line towards a 700 m dune, the incessant cries of all of us made us laugh until we cried. Our driver turned on a big dune, making our buggy take serious air, which sent my adrenaline through the roof. Even if you're not a thrill finder, only the views are worth The waves in the sand created a desert ocean in front of us, and the sun falling behind the golden Dunes made a view that I will surely never forget.

In addition to gliding through the monstrous dunes of the desert for an hour, the tour also includes sand-boarding... If you're daring enough! Basically you lie face down on a sand board (same as a snowboard, but made for the sand) and fly over a dune. To be really entertained, watch the video below and listen to the woman I was talking about screaming as I went down the hill. It's damn funny.

After the sand board, our driver took us to a viewpoint on the dunes to see a magical sunset. I had never seen the sun disappear behind Sand mountains, and it was quite fascinating. The excursion ended by stopping at another point of view, this time overlooking the gleaming Huacachina then.

What to do in the Oasis and its surroundings?

In addition to the spas of the place, the hotels that offer facilities for the rest, and
the lagoon to which is attributed curative properties for its rich waters in sulforosas and saline substances, you can make walks in the desert with the Different places that offer tours in buggies, both in the day and at night.

Due to the presence of sand dunes, this place has the ideal environment to perform another very popular activity in the area such as the sand board, a sport that consists of the descent by dunes or Sandy hills, with special tables similar to those of snowboarding , an activity that belongs to the category of extreme sports thanks to the increase of adrenaline experienced by those who practise it.
