Tree Planting Project

Day 22

53 Trees Planted So Far!

The earth is suffocating from the abusing of deforestation in countries all around the globe. The reason varies, all from large and continuous accidental forest fires during hot summers to global cooperation's wish to gain profitable money to their already large money bags.

I will post one post per day to collect as much post reward as possible to donate for planting trees in various places of the earth using the service of One Tree Planted.

Why I do this?

As the world we live in is going global, we read more and understand more today than at any other time before, I see more and more selfishness. People have a hard time to take in the global perspective, and that what You do every day have an impact on people on the other places of the world. I do this to make a small contribution towards a better, more understanding, and greener world.

I believe in the platform for a greater good, for something that can be used to help others. Each day will have a short summary on the country or project that I support, making the post not only about supporting something, but also educational for you who contribute towards it.

Please help me help others and our planet.

Latest Contribution

Today we plant 2 trees in the Amazon Rainforest, also known in English as Amazonia or the Amazon Jungle, is a moist broadleaf forest in the Amazon biome that covers most of the Amazon basin of South America. This basin encompasses 7,000,000 km2 (2,700,000 sq mi), of which 5,500,000 km2 (2,100,000 sq mi) are covered by the rainforest. This region includes territory belonging to nine nations.

The Amazon represents over half of the planet's remaining rainforests, and comprises the largest and most biodiverse tract of tropical rainforest in the world, with an estimated 390 billion individual trees divided into 16,000 species.

More than 60% of Peru is covered by the Amazon rainforest. This reforestation project is located in the Madre de Dios region, home to over 10 percent of the world's bird species. The goal is to restore and protect the "buffer zone" between Tambopata National Reserve, Bahuaja-Sonene National Park, and the city of Puerto Maldonado. This area has been identified as a high risk zone for deforestation and degradation due to unsustainable agricultural practices in the region. Planting trees here will help conserve habitat for the Jaguar and hundreds of other species living in the protected areas, while providing sustainable livelihoods to local people.

This tree planting project will help protect the area’s biodiverse primary forests and restore degraded land. Our partners will work with local farmers in Puerto Maldonado to establish a sustainable agroforestry system using shade-grown cocoa, native tree species, and productive timber species. A farming cooperative will be established within the community, providing technical assistance and training for participants in the sustainable agroforestry model.

To maximize the impact of your donation, our partner will determine the most appropriate species of tree to plant.

The Amazon is the world's largest tropical rainforest, spanning 9 countries in total: Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana. At 6.9 million square kilometers (2.72 million square miles), the Amazon Basin is roughly the size of the 48 contiguous United States and covers around 40% of the South American continent. Approximately 70% of South America's GDP is produced in areas that receive rainfall or water from the Amazon.

The Process

Once a posts pay-out is finalized, ~75% of the value will be used to purchase trees through One Tree Planted. I will use WirexAPP to purchase with Cryptocurrency and minimize the loss through fees. The goal is to plant as many trees as possible.

The Result

It's still early in the process of collecting funds, there will be a few until anything is paid out, I'm still going to purchase trees until there are post rewards to use. Thus I will have a negative result for the moment.
