GOOD MORNING!!!

Yes, it's Sunday morning and many people are sleeping and relaxing. Not me... I'm up and at em, having enjoyed my rest day yesterday Saturday. I am just so excited about what we do that I want to share it because it is a success story. I want to SHOW you how we won't stop and can't stop planting more rainforest trees. How necessary and awesome this work is when it is done with communities in a biodiverse and heart filled fair pay long term kinda way. I have a lot of stories to share so I'm just diving right in with real time updates so to speak and little by little I will share bits and pieces of our tree planting community, my own zen taoist walk through life and what I have learned from working tirelessly for almost 20 years as a self initiated eco warrior. This post is about how the rainforest makes it rain for all of us no matter where we live. And how getting families and kids involved in the ACTION is critical to success long term. ( You can skip to the end and watch another one of our awesome collaborative film pieces called TREE HUGGERS made by two Tree Ambassadors and us supported by The North Face. It explains more about the ways that rainforest trees repair the hydrological or water cycle.)

For now, look what we did just two days ago. ![DSC07903.JPG]

Our heroes of nature planted 110 trees around the water spring that was deforested last year. Someone went and cut a bunch of trees down so that they could more easily get their tube for drinking water into the spring. One of our crew members and participating farmer families lives nearby and discovered what had happened. The school kids actually complained about it to their teacher too bc they had learned in one of our tree talks how the trees are necessary to protect shade and conserve the water. The stream dried up a lot during this past summer. Everyone was quite upset especially the school children. So when Jedier contacted me and asked if community carbon trees could re-plant the spring and give some more trees to the school, of course, I said YES!

Friday was the day!! Six strong guys loaded the trees early in the morning with Alvaro y Teresa and drove them far up in the mountain, and then walked a mile making a trail thru the brush.

They planted all 110 trees, about 35 special fruit and water protection species all around the spring! About 3 acres! They also planted some fruit trees at the school! The bigger school kids also made a trek out there so that they could see the work and we could reinforce their activism about the importance of maintaining the trees standing around every single water spring.

A lot of people don't really realize that the water actually comes out of the ground. It doesn't just miraculously appear dripping out of your Faucet. I'm not joking, people have said this to me before ... that water comes out of the faucet. Actually, Mother earth and a Father sky give us the water. With the help of the trees, especially the ones down here on the equator where it rains so much. The trees recycle the ☔️ clean and protect it from evaporating too fast! If water equals life... then trees equal water. 💦 💚 🌳 🌎 🇨🇷 ![IMG_3986.jpg]

Here is a little video project we made with our Tree Ambassadors and THE NORTH Face who paid for the mdeia work and donated 60 trees to add to our tally of almost 12,000 trees planted with our community and 538,000 in total with private projects included! We are trying to make it to 1,000,000 trees, all growing strong, by 2020. Who wants to help us? Im thinking about donating all steemit money to the trees. That would be cool right?
