Dorsal are a small ethnic group inhabiting the area Gamo Gofa in the northern part of the valley Omo in Ethiopia. Heights of Gamo rise to 2750 meters.

The Group has about 30,000 people.

Dorsal have unusual huts. Viewed from the outside, they resemble giant elephant with trunk. As fragile seem homes dorsal, such can not remain unscathed aims to serve 60 years. And the curious thing is that the dorsal a technique which can move their homes to another location due to the structure of vertical poles.
Any such shack has an entrance hall, which from the outside looks just like an elephant's trunk. This is the reception. While the outside looks small inside cabin is spacious.
In the middle of the floor there is an open space, where the hosts lit a fire to cook their food. The walls are stacked bunks and niches - warehouses.

These houses have a place for guests, workshop and kitchen. Together with the people in these huts live and farm animals - cows, goats, sheep and chickens.
The disadvantage of these homes is the problem we have with termites. If these little bugs attacked such hut, dorsal must raise the house from its foundations and move it to another site, free of termites. This mobility of the houses gives them a chance of longer survival, but with each move, the house becomes lower.
