There comes a time in a man's life...
Beards can be a touchy subject. Face it. (LOL) Some kids can grow them while they are still teenagers, while others of us head into our late thirties without being able to even grow sideburns.
Personally, I would like to grow a beard one day, but so far, I have to settle for what I've got. Let's check the inventory.
In this recent photo, taken yesterday, you can see all of my facial hair. It includes the following:
- 2 Mustaches
- 1 Soul Patch
- 1 Goatee
Even though I am old enough to be two teenagers, I still cannot grow the following:
- 1 Beard
AM I BITTER?
Some may think that desiring to have a beard and yet not being to grow one would be a big struggle for a man like me. You know, perhaps it would be for a lot of guys, but I'm not like a lot of guys. I'm just one.
You may be able to tell based upon the length of my mustache and goatee that I do appreciate what I can grow, and I do let it grow. Over the years, I've come to appreciate the facial hair that I do have, so I decided to do a tribute to my goatee. Below is the video.

I decided to style hair in a way that it resembled my goatee, as a tribute to my facial hair. Not only does it look similar, it makes my head much more symmetrical in a vertical way. If you are wondering exactly how I got my hair to do that, you may need to check out the video!

This was amusing. When I met my future husband when he was 19 years old, he proudly sported three chest hairs. After we got married, he tried a beard and a mustache. It was a disaster, all patchy and a horrible orange color. It got better, though. My hubby started hunting a few years ago, and by then he succeeded in growing a rather bushy beard. I was not exceptionally fond of that, but then we made a deal. He may grow his beard during the colder months (April to August in South Africa). Come 1 September, it had to come off, all of it. In the past few years, however, he started looking quite distinguished with his beard, and without really talking about it, I noticed that the beard stayed. Then another compromise: he may wear it all year, but only if he really looks after it. Now he goes to a barber every Friday. He does not miss that appointment for anything in the world. He really gets pampered - beard oil, a neck and back massage, eyebrow grooming, the works. So now I actually love the groomed, hairy look...

I wish I could grow an awesome head of hair but instead I shave it all off cos I think it wouldn't suit me at all. I can't grow a beard either. Pretty much I may as well be bald of all hair. If you coloured it you'd look like a Troll Doll 😆

I've always been able to grow a beard. Since I detest shaving, this is a sort of good thing; I've kept my face mostly covered since the moon landing. However, at 3/4" it starts getting scraggly, so I have to trim it regularly. So like you, I can't get that full, "I have 3 families of blue tits nesting," mountain man beard.

No, you can't get that "birds-and-small-animals-take-refuge-on-my-face" look ... because you'd find yourself nesting on the couch at night until you fixed it. You're enough of a wild-man-of-the-mountain with just your personality. You don't need to also look the part -- or be seen in public with me in that condition. If I'd wanted to marry someone sporting the "dumpster-diver" look, I had plenty of locals to choose from. (Except none of them could write like you do.)

That is something my son has no issues with, he has the mutton chops and finally the mustache and chin area has started filling in, I am always telling him he needs to shave. LOL I am not ready for my baby boy to look like a man yet
