Trueflip Challenge =Thug Life?

in trueflip •  7 years ago  (edited)

The TrueFlip Challenge went from a fair art contest to thug life.

The Trueflip Challenge awards a grand prize of about 30 BTC

Here's the unethical behavior that rigged the vote.

It all starts with Trueflip posting a final vote forum here:
https://steemit.com/blockchain/@trueflip/the-vote

(You can vote in the comments.)

It's supposed to be 1 comment, 1 vote, and whichever artwork is liked by the most people wins.

But no.

After the first few votes are cast, it becomes apparent that this will not be a fair contest.

One whale decided to upvote everyone who voted for the first entry $4!

Some of the first voters even got up to $15!

Go to the comment page, see for yourself.

What is the point of having a community-judged contest when the judges are being bribed?

To put this into perspective, my account has a total of $7.

If type four words, "I vote for #1" into the comment box, my account may rise 50% in value.

It's not an art contest, it's a wealth contest.

I think TrueFlip should have put in the rules only to count comments with declined rewards to make it harder for them to cheat.

Nonetheless, this large-scale experiment demonstrates how hard it is to hold a fair vote.
