There's no reason taxpayers who aren't even members of that party should be funding it, or get a say in their internal affairs or ballot decisions.
And as far as the punishment itself goes, ignoring all that? Regardless of how much at fault one believes he's been, or what he deserves... Trump hasn't been convicted of any such crime, and Colorado's Supreme Court has held no trial. The House recommended such charges, and he was acquitted by the Senate.
I'm opposed to general election ballots listing a candidate's party, as well.
If you don't even know enough about a candidate to already know something that basic, maybe you should sit that race out as a voter.
The current system essentially subsidizes large parties with taxpayer dollars and rules meant to harm smaller parties and independents, unsurprising given which two parties have power.
