Highly educated, affluent liberals are still trying to come to grips with the results of the 2016 election.
When looking at the American demography, there are many Americans who are highly educated and intelligent, but also lots who are not. Definitely not.
However, I don't think it has much to do with intelligence. One of the main reasons why people in the Netherlands are voting for the extreme right politician, is because they are tired of the problems (i.e. wars, refugees, health care).
This guy - Geert Wilders - is what they call a populist. He gains his popularity by shouting "what people think" without any solution. For instance, he was called to court for inciting people to shouting for wanting less Moroccan people. Though refugees may be a problem in the Netherlands (and Europe), just throwing them all out is not a solution.
Trump does the same. Shouting around his opinion without coming with a solution. Doing what is good for America, without overthinking what the consequences could be. As long as it sells on the short term. Next to this, he doesn't accept anything from anyone and is too dumb too know when people are playing him.
thought full post. Keep the good ones coming

Thanks, will try to. If you have any other opinion you are also free to discuss. I hope I'm wrong on this, but I fear that I'm not.
