Trump "Pocahontas" Remark: You Can't Make This Stuff up!

Imagine a comedy sketch on Saturday Night Live. Picture Alec Baldwin playing Trump as he greets Navajo WWII veterans. The comedian makes a slur about Elizabeth Warren, calling her Pocahontas. To add to this comedy gold, they are all standing in front of a picture of President Andrew Jackson, a president who was infamous for massacres of Native Americans.

NO, This Really Happened!

Right, it seems like it could have been a great comedy sketch. However, we don't need brilliant comedy writers or actors any longer. This is actually what happened when the president honored elderly Navajo men who had served the United States during World War II. Serious, you cannot make this stuff up!

The thing is that Native American leaders were pretty moderate in their comments about the event. They called the remarks " culturally insensitive." That was really nice of them because I'm sure that they could have come up with much harsher terms, and they probably did privately.

Then our lovely press secretary said it was ridiculous to consider this an ethnic slur. What else could it have possibly been?

Folks, we are living in crazy days.
