This is who he is at his deepest core. And if he succeeds at ending American democracy, it will be because Republicans would rather have a fascist in charge than keep a Republican if the latter can be run by a Democrat. They would rather have fascism than an elected progressive in charge.
Fuck the GOP. Fuck Trump. Fuck his supporters and enablers. Fuck you if you support him, and fuck your mother if she supports him.
Arguably the most distressing thing about this is the fact that Trump worked so closely and so hand in love with police forces and police unions in both his presidency and in his campaigns. That Trump is promising to essentially give cops a free hand for any and all forms of violence is actually testament to the fact that this is what most cops want. This is certainly what they want at the level of union organizing, collective bargaining, and political lobbying. This is what they want.
