Engaging with a bad faith whataboutism is a waste of time to me. They know it is nonsense. They know the behavior is wrong and indefensible. They are just throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks.
I think the most central thing to mention is that this isn't a case of differential prosecution. Trump's not being indicted based on the classified documents he inadvertently kept and then returned to the archives. He's being indicted over the classified documents he didn't return to the archives and actively hid from the federal government.
