La Cumbrecita is a beautiful mountain village, which is located in the Calamuchita Valley, 118 km. Of Cordoba Capital and to 830 km. Of Capital Federal.

This beautiful mountain village is distinguished by its European center architecture and its unique landscape. It is located in the vicinity of Cerro Champaquí, which is the highest hill in the province of Cordoba and 40 km west of the city of Villa General Belgrano.

In 1932, Dr. Helmut Cabjolsky traveled to Argentina from Germany accompanied by his family. In search of a place to vacation, he bought in 1934 in the sierras of Cordoba a field of approximately 500 ha, which contained as a geographical reference point the so-called Cumbrecita Hill.

The first building, made with adobe, was started in 1935. The original idea was that this residence served as a summer home for the Cabjolsky family, but very soon it was transformed into a lodge to house friends of the family. Years later, given the growing tourist interest in the territory, the house began to function as a small inn.

During the 1940s the first private houses were built and the people slowly acquired the German character that distinguishes it.

The town of La Cumbrecita was populated by immigrants from central Europe, transforming over time into an ecotourism jewel, completely pedestrian and similar in architecture and customs to the small German settlements of the fifteenth century. The communal authorities declared it an environmental protection zone.

For tourist information, La Cumbrecita is the first pedestrian village in Argentina, which closes its streets at 10 p.m. to 6 p.m. by car. The vehicles should be parked on the communal beach located at the entrance of the village, then enter walking.

The natural environment of this village is unparalleled, crystalline streams are combined with beautiful mountain ranges and pine forests. Its historical Chapel, its waterfalls and Cerro Wank, are some of the recommended attractions to be visited by tourists.
