Witness accounts and scenes of aftermath of the airstrikes by the Erdogan regime on the village of Sinamoka in Kurdistan Region. 22 December 2018

Transcript:

My house is cracked all over.

All the windows, glass doors, everything is damaged.

As you can see for yourselves. And all the villagers can attest to how much damage has been done to this region.

Our house is not the exception to the damaged houses.

As you can see, the damage is extensive; cracks in the walls, windows burst, insulation all damaged.

We have lost a lot.

But thank God, there were no casualties. Otherwise the damage is extremely costly.

Our message as civilians is that we Kurds seek peace.

Whoever oppresses our nation is our enemy. We will never give up our lands.

We will stand to all enemies and occupiers to the last breath and drop of blood.

What should we do? That savage won’t let us be. And whatever they do to me, I won’t give up on my homeland.

We've given a lot defending our lands; we won’t give it up.

We aren’t safe when we sleep at night. We aren’t safe at daytime.

Our humble houses are being flattened.

Last night [Dec. 22] from 8:30 to 9:00,fTurkey’s airplanes struck the foothills of Qandil.

They bombarded Sinamoka village.

There is significant and costly material damage for Sinamoka villagers.

But thank God, fortunately there were no casualties.

The Turkish state should be ashamed.

Let them take away all out properties; we will never give up on our villages and lands, let them keep dreaming.

My son’s three-room house is damaged. It was fully furnished. It had enough things in it for three homes.

I’ve been working here since I was a kid.

There were 6 walnut trees over there; all gone. None of the 6 trees left. Look for yourselves and film, my walnut trees are all gone.

This house has been ruined 5 times since my childhood by enemies.
In the Saddam Hussein era, and before that by other governments.

And now the Turkish state is attacking us.

If the excuse is PKK, there is not PKK here at all.

If there are PKK, they are elsewhere in hideouts.

I haven’t seen any.

Why would they bombard my house, if they aren’t given green light?

The US government has given them green light to bombard us.

Most of the bombardments aren’t on PKK, but on the people.

Only the people perish.

I haven’t seen PKK here; I am 90 years old.

I’m 90 and my home has been burned 5 times since my childhood. 5 times!

Look at my walnut trees, all gone.

Film them!

Look all around me! I’ve lived here all my life; I’m 90.

There is tremendous damage.

The windows and doors haven’t even paid for yet, and they’ve shattered it all.
How is that fair?

I have worked alone, poured sweat, tears and blood into this house, and now they have shattered it to pieces even before we could move into it.

What can we do?

I ask of KRG to rid us of this tyrant.
