Lost in Space

Just finished the new netflix series Lost in Space and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. It is a reboot of a franchise that has been around the block a few times. I believe the last reboot was 20 years ago and was a bit of a flop. Despite that I have a bit of a soft spot for sci-fi shows and it was on netflix so I decided to give it a try. I'm glad that I did.

The basic premise of the show is that Earth is dying and a group of people are headed towards a new home when disaster strikes. Their space station suffers some sort of catastrophe and the passengers have to abandon ship. The group ends up landing on a unknown planet and begin to do there best to survive.

The main story revolves around the Robinson family. The mother is a Rocket Scientist, the father a elite military man and the three children are all quite brilliant. Only the best of the best were allowed on the mission into space so this isn't that out of the normal for the setting of the show. They aren't a perfect family though, which is actually one of the better qualities of the show.

The story has some twists and turns along the way and the story progresses at a good pace without much in the way of filler. Most of the episodes flow together quite nicely and overall I thoroughly enjoyed the season. I'm hopeful they bring the show back for a second season because it would be cool to see where they could go from where the show left off.

Anyways, I definitely recommend checking out Lost in Space if you are looking for a new series to watch. The full season is on netflix so if you are a binge watcher like me you can crush through it in a few days.
