Self Control. Not self control.

So, now I can answer this question spoiler free.

No other show in history has had this much fan speculation in this short a time. The pandemic means we crave certainty. We fear uncertainty. We grasp for meaning. I've seen literally hundreds of posts from people speculating every tiniest detail in every tiniest easter egg.

Also, the pandemic has meant we are even more solipsistic, even more living in our own heads - regardless of whether we are isolating or in COVID denial.

It's in us now, controlling us.

So yes. Otherwise sensible, sane people who would be the first to condemn others use of spoilers are spoilering like there is no tomorrow. Shit, I can easily imagine doing it myself.

If two days ago you said 'this is going to happen' and then two days later it happened, its pretty hard to dial that back. Self control is a fusion of two words. Self and Control. And you could see that in so many people's hope that they are in control of the narrative arc of a TV show.

Self Control. Not self control.
