The Defenders Episode 2 Review – No Spoilers

The show is slowly picking up steam. The episode picks up a few hours after the cliffhanger of the previous episode. This episode is also more of a set up, but not just for our heroes, but also for out villains.

As for our heroes, each of them is still living in their own show. Matt Murdock is struggling with his Daredevil persona as if he’s a recovering alcoholic, just dying to put on the suit. Jessica Jones is head over heels with a case she took in the previous episode. Luke Cage is trying to help a kid in his neighborhood and Danny Rand is still looking for the hand. Similarly, to the last episode, only with slight shifts, but these shifts were enough to make me feel like the plot is moving forward and that the mystery is building.

There is also some set up for our villains. We get to get see the extent of their power, their influence, some of their goals, some of the soldiers, all just pieces of the puzzles, but not enough to put it together just yet.

This time the episode doesn’t end on a cliffhanger, but in a much more satisfying way. Which still didn’t get me to binge watch the show, but I am definitely on board.
