The Defenders Episode 3 Review – No Spoilers

Slow is the name of the game. Too slow apparently.

I must admit I am disappointed by a lot of things in this show. First, the show looks cheap. Alexandra is meant to be the head of a major cooperation, in reality she looks mediocre. Why? Because she is dressed like an aunt. Even the fancy offices, don’t look fancy to me. Sometimes the blood looks like cheap barbecue sauce, seriously, brown blood? The characters have moments when they are acting out of characters, because these are clearly not their show runners. The choreography is underwhelming as well. Going into to episode 4 I feel that the show is not a mystery, but doesn’t have a clear direction.

On the positive side, I still love the characters. Well, I love Jessica Jones. I love her interactions with Matt Murdock. Surprisingly, my least favorite character is Luke Cage. You have superpowers, you have seen some very strange stuff, how hard is it to believe in what your told? His attitude is all wrong and gets everyone into trouble, but not the kind that even moves the plot forward. Even Danny Rand is more likable than him. I didn’t watch Iron Fist, but he seems alright in this show, your average clueless rich boy in terms of character archetypes. The interaction between the characters is the only the thing that is keep it together, and Jessica Jones and Matt Murdock are keeping it fun.

I give it a 7.5/10

Jessica is probably one of if not the best thing about The Defenders. I ended up finishing this so now waiting till you finish for those thoughts as well.

Please for the love of everything holy when you are done with The Defenders, watch The Tick and review it. It is only 6 episodes, and if you have no ties to the character or comics really won't matter as this series is just gold on it's own and possibly better enjoyed without knowing previous iterations of The Tick, however I would not know that for sure.

I am not watching this show alone, that's why it's going so slowly. I heard about the Tick, maybe I'll give it a try. For now I am hoping that the next Game of Thrones episode will leak online somehow again so I can watch it, that is what I want to watch the most.

Wow...cool..
