I loved Dexter
At least the first seasons. So I was really excited when this poster popped up in my facebook feed.
Unfortunately it is fake and there are no plans so far for a 9th season.
But people got really excited that the show might go on as many, myself, included did not like the ending.
Netflix continued Arrested Development as well which aired originally on Fox for three seasons till 2006.
2013 a fourth season got released by Netflix.
So quite a bit of downtime for the Bluth family.
With that in mind it would not be impossible that Netflix picked up the series as the storyline ended but it would be easily possible to continue with it.
What I really enjoyed about the show was Dexter`s view on how to be human and his narration of his and others actions. The killing got pushed more into the background and it was more like a character flaw Dexter had.
As mentioned in my opinion the show went a bit downhill after season 4. But till then it was a phenomenal show with one of the most memorable (in a good way not in a shitty "Lost" way) season finales I have ever seen.
The show had great villains, great character development and to its peak it was one of my favorite shows.
What about you? Did you like Dexter? Do you have a show you wish would be continued?
It is interesting to notice that I watched the show till the end of the third season. So I did not miss anything important by not seeing the posterior seasons...I'm a lucky man.

Dachte einfach es wird ein alternatives Ending geben, wird ja manchmal gemacht wie für "I am Legend" zum Beispiel

Dexter was the best. and yeah...season 4 overall and the finale were the peak.
i also enjoyed Hannibal. and a series called the Fall was good. all Killer series's if you will!

Dexter hab ich gern geschaut. Zugegeben, ein oder zwei Staffeln waren zwar etwas langatmig aber in der Summe eine gute, spannende Serie. Ich würde mich über eine Fortsetzung freuen.

Never really got into Dexter but it just got me thinking how hard it is to sustain the quality of a series after 3-4 seasons.
X-Files and Supernatural were pretty cool for the first couple of seasons and then it really started to get draggy and ridiculous.

I really liked it as well. The first couple seasons were really good! I would have preferred it end an episode earlier than it did, as I really didn't like the ending. I would say where if we had a sweet spoiler feature that would hide certain comments. I was even tempted to try the books and see how good they were.
They could easily pick up from where they left off on the TV series and go a good direction though.

I was disappointed by the ending but it was not horrible. My expectations were pretty high through the ending of season 4 ( the one with the trinity killer ) but to be fair I think no ending would be satisfying in my eyes.

I believe the reason the show went downhill after season 4 is because the showrunner who ran the first 4 seasons left the show, which caused a change in creative style and (it seems) talent for season 5 - 8. But I agree that the first 4 seasons are some of the best television of all time.
