Fun fact 24.11.22

The following fact tells about two special girls - Kristina and Tatiana Hogan. Siamese twins from Canada, are connected in their heads and brains.

But that's really not all - their brain connection is unique and has never been seen in history. Get the main facts:

  • Born on October 25, 2006, by caesarean section, with only a 20% chance of survival...

  • Six months later in April 2007, they discovered that Tatiana had high blood pressure because her heart was working harder to feed parts of Kristina's brain. This was the initial test that revealed that they are connected in a special way.
*The connections between their brains are unusually coordinated - when one of them is tickled the other laughs, or when a pacifier is put in the mouth of one of them the other stops crying.

  • Later on they discovered that they are connected in the brain in an area called the thalamus, and because they share neural pathways that pass through the area - one can see through the eyes of the other (for those interested, the thalamus is a station in the brain for many sensory and motor pathways. It also has many processing centers for all kinds of feelings you get)

  • If anyone was wondering - the girls are developing normally, and have acquired completely normal communication and walking abilities.

  • In 2014, in an interview, they said that they share the same feelings and emotions, and can taste what the other eats
