Herrrooo Dreamers,
What an amazing weekend!
I was so fortunate to run into SO many casters who it was either a first time meeting with them or it was a wonderful reunion. I was also blessed with more Dreamers finding me and getting selfies with me as well. The weekend was full of next level energy. It is almost hard to capture the enthusiasm and positivity that TwitchCon exudes. This was my 3rd TwitchCon and I can say without a doubt that this event continues to get better and better every year.
This was my first year as a Partnered streamer on Twitch and I noticed the additional treatment, attention and leverage the title possesses. However, if anyone out there thinks that that title defines you or is a holy grail to fame need to do a quick reality check. The perks are nice but aren't anything to view yourself and/or your content as inferior. The additional attention is the most important aspect of any conversation that matters. I am so very thankful that people will share their time with me period let alone listen to me ramble on for hours at a time. Leverage was helpful when talking with sponsors that aligned with my brand, image and where the overall Dream Stream is headed.
On Day 2 I had the pleasure of holding a meet & greet (ran by myself, not by Twitch) at the GDQx area for about 3 hours and the amount of individuals I ran into was just tremendous! The photos of these will once again be spread throughout Twitter and IG over the coming weeks. From there I joined Dospostmann, Flibbityflam and Angelica to a TwitchCon TheBlurApp Mixer which was a blast. I had so many good conversations, especially with J.R. (who runs their sales & marketing), Kirsten (the humbled CEO) and Jimmy Joe (one of their faces for shoutcasting the 21-game Challenge). After spending numerous hours with the self-sacrificing culture that TheBlurApp embodies (being an entrepreneur this rallies my passions and desires tenfold), we took off to the Partner Party for the remainder of the evening.
The Partner Mixer Party was a crowded in regards to space throughout the WHOLE event which took place at the Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose. Yet, even with that I felt at home when it came to mingling and having tons of meaningful conversations with numerous individuals. These are the things I look for when I am aiming to do a convention or a mixer is the ability to talk to as many people as possible and more importantly to have as many meaningful conversations we can fit into the limited time we all had.
Day 3 I set up another meet & greet and was able to once gain enjoy the attention of another horde of lovely people. Later that day was the Bankai & Friends meet up at the Food Court area of TwitchCon. The Bankai is a stream team I am a part of that comes from the 8-bit Dojo Community. It was a personal mini mixer and overall focus of our group going into 2019. Simply put, many good times were had with all of these lovelies.
Day "4" was a result of meeting up with those remaining people who happened to be in the area even though TwitchCon had ended on Sunday and most people had already embarked home. I was stuck in an unfortunate situation from Sunday where I had a flat tire. My brother, Duhmustardtiger, came through by letting me borrow his car on Sunday but on Monday I was stranded. That did not stop Doodybeard or NewOwlHooDis from coming to visit me before continuing on their journey home. I gushed a little bit about it here.
All in all the weekend was a massive success, the family feel of the community became much more real to a point where it is surreal. Yet I can say without a doubt that we are going to Dream so hard going into the end of this year, 2019 and beyond. Let's Dream my friends!
