Thats a great idea, I might have to try this approach as well. I have two Twitter accounts with almost 10K followers but I cant get anyone to make the Jump to Steemit. I think some of it has to do with the 'Original Content' we promote here. Most of the people on Twitter are copy/paste Link aggregators. I dont think any of them understand they don't have to Author posts here, that they can still earn by curation and Comments and just actively participating in the Steemit community.

I have 14k followers on my main Twitter account, and I usually notice a slight uptick in followers whenever i share a new Steemit post. Maybe test different hastags to increase exposure? I also include my Steemit link in my Twitter Bio.

When I write, I keep Google in mind. I'm here for the long haul, so by adding a touch of SEO, my aim is to draw new users to Steemit through search, long after the payout window closes.

yeah, I do feel that it's a war love vs. fear! If we are more encouraging towards others and if we do this right, the scammers will be flushed out!

I see some positives here. First, we were able to get the word out pretty fast. We've built up a decent following on Twitter and it keeps growing. So we have that alternate channel to get the word out on things like this.

Second, it's not what happens in life, its how you respond to it. Scammers are always going to be here because there are people and money here. This scammer got shut down fast and didn't hurt many people. But we all responded to raise awareness so this type of scam should be less effective in the future.

We help each other out on Steemit. We cooperate and work together. There is a lot of strength in that.

Oh yes, rewarding newcomers is so essential. The whole onboarding Process is really sensitive because if a new user doesn't feel that he is welcome the probability is high that he leaves the site again.

The introduce myself Post are a big part of this site and crucial for the future growth of this site.

If you look at it, I am very invested in every way on Steem: I spent almost a year and a half of my energy helping to build this place, and most of my close friends are those I met here......it goes way deeper than money at this point. It angers me that fucktard scammers want to destroy this platform that was created out of goodness. Actually, it's very tragic that they would use their programming skills to do evil.

I dont know about other people but i think this will be a great idea for Nigerians. Considering the fact that most of them leave because they get nothing. If there can be an incentive like that. Something like a registration bonus. It would be grate and it will motivate them so much. For example. The one you did for @cwen. I am sure she will not think of living and it will be difficult for her to b scammed

My plan is same as yours, create interesting engagement through other social media platforms, create a route for africans from these places to here, steemit.com.

I see my brethren spending all their time on twitter and especially on instagram.

I do not have a twitter but I will create for steemit purpose and I will tell my group of newbie steemit friends since that steemit Philippines will explode from 100 to 2million of newbie invites from facebook group pages.Im glad that we have switch the facebook users into steemit and Im writing a post about this this couple of days and right now we are still assisting to train and teach newbies while others are waiting for thier steemit sign up approval and tnx to @surpassingoogle who is always very supportive to our activities to keep on inviting newbies and we are going to conduct personal training to newbies who are mostly a facebook users. So I would suggest each one of them to create twitter and create a good self introduction.

I am a bit old now on Steemit planet to write an #introduceyourself post but I would like to let you know that I, a social media hater, who had sworn never to Tweet anything in my life, have opened a twitter account now, because of you. After seeing your effort, I realize that, other than giving stupid updates like "Just got up" and 'Took a shower" like many people, Twitter can be put to good use too. Cheers. Upvoted

Really good idea. This Steemit > Twitter thing has been on my mind for the last few days, mainly after catching some comments by @fitnfun who is trying like mad to promote Steemit on Twitter.

Personally, I don't think my posts are geared to share on Twitter. Who cares about the inner workings of Steemit when they aren't (and sometimes are!) a member.

So yeah, I was thinking about a promotional post to get sent to Twitterland, something those of us on Twitter would be happy to share around, that would interest the folks who haven't heard about Steemit. I'll be looking around for more ideas, this one is a goodun though.
