The issue is not 'if less fortunate' should be dealt with compassion, the problem is that people think that the U.S. is prepared to handle thousands of new people...and we are not. Unfortunately there are groups of people that are lying to the immigrants and telling that if they arrive at the U.S. border then this country is obligated to care for them.
Illegal immigration is what is trying to take place, its a break down of law and order.
Plan 'A'... President Trump and other republicans want to make sure that if we invite people into America, we would like to be able to care for the less fortunate people that are in the country
Plan 'B'... However the vast majority of the democrats think that we should allow every Tom, Dick, and Harry into the country because its tough in other countries. Under this plan everything has to operate smoothly (i.e. the job market can never shrink and nobody can get laid off) or else there will be starving people in the streets of America.
Plan 'A' is based on free market economics (democracy) Winston Churchill said that '...Democracy is the worst form of government...except for the rest...
Plan 'B' is based heavily on socialism (communism). Communism is a great idea, and it works flawlessly...on paper. But human beings are not robots (because of sin human beings are greedy.)
Not all human beings eat the same amount of food. Pretend that 3 people can comfortably live on 3,000 calories per day, so communism says if another person is added then 1,000 more calories need to be added. The math makes sense, but in reality the new guy is 6' 10 and requires a lot of calories.
Communism would say 'come on big man, the state will feed you...somehow we will fairly figure out how to feed everyone on less calories than what they need. (Thats why communism can not make us all wealthy, at best it can only make sure that everyone is equally poor!)
Democracy says that the big man needs to plant a fruit tree.
It is an inconvenient truth but some people are fine with the fact that they need to sit on the floor and thoes people can get buy sitting on a rug that costs 50 cents, however some people do not like to sit on the floor...Plan B states that the cost of the chairs should be shared by everyone (which is only fair if you do not like the floor) Plan A says that people that want to sit in chair have to work differently than the people that sit on rugs.
