Heavy rains and winds caused by Typhoon Jebi hit the city of Tokushima

A powerful typhoon, considered the most violent to reach Japan for 25 years, will cross the center-west of the archipelago on Tuesday disrupting transport and business activity, according to the authorities.
Typhoon Jebi, the twenty-first of the season in Asia, was located early in the morning in the south of the country and is expected to touch the coast during the day.
"It will rush with all its might" against the western part and the center of the archipelago with very violent winds, which can reach up to 220 km / h in some places, in a very wide perimeter that includes even the city of Tokyo, Although it is located to the east, the Japanese meteorological agency warned.
It is also feared that the typhoon, which will have an atmospheric pressure at its center of 945 hectopascals, will be accompanied by torrential rains that could lead to the evacuation of part of the population of the affected areas.
The airlines have already canceled more than 500 flights as a precaution, and many rail connections have been suspended.
The department stores of the Osaka region, in western Japan, have decided to close their doors on Tuesday.
Several companies in the areas that will be affected by the typhoon asked their employees to stay at home, and the schools did the same with their students.
Many typhoons reach Japan in summer, but Jebi is especially strong and could cause significant damage in the country, which in July suffered floods and landslides in which 220 people died.
