Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin in Kozelets (Ukraine)

Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin in Kozelets is a beautiful architecture of the era of the Cossack Baroque.
The cathedral was built in 1752-1763 by the order of the family of Razumovsky according to the project of Ivan Grigorovich-Barsky. Along with the cathedral there is a bell tower, built in 1766-1770 years.
The Cathedral and the bell tower are located in the historic center of Kozelets, and are its urban-dominant domains. It belongs to the best architectural works of the XVIII century in Ukraine.

Велетень-красень Собор Козацького бароко. Про що він думає, стоячи посеред Козельця ? Він посміхається … бо бароковому собору – належить посміхатись. Він згадує веселі часи … часи коли життя довкола нього вирувало і людей обтяжених владою, приходило до нього, більше ніж до київських печер. Він пам’ятає і обох Розумовських і грізну Розумиху, від погляду, якої іноді тріпотіли суворі козацькі полковники. Він згадує і посміхається … він знає що таке влада.
