Twitter Fun | Al Iaquinta replaces Max Holloway in UFC223 Main Event

Here's a snapshot of my Twitter timeline:

Twitter is a fun place during the chaos of a UFC event being rejigged at the last moment.

I have spent the last couple of hours refreshing my Twitter timeline much to the dismay of my wife. A normal Friday night for us is to watch a movie or perhaps enjoy a meal I've cooked for us with a nice Pinot Noir. Either way on occasion the delights of Twitter can interfere.

A basic timeline would look something like:

• Max Holloway being removed from his spot in the Main Event (important note: Max himself was a replacement).

• Late scramble from the UFC to replace Max Holloway with former champion Anthony Pettis, this falls apart when the fighter and promotion cannot agree to financial terms.

• The UFC move onto Paul Felder as a replacement, unfortunately the NYSAC (New York State Athletic Commission) intervene late on and veto the move, citing Felder not being ranked in the latest rankings.

• Seemingly reluctantly the UFC move onto Al Iaquinta as their final option, after some deliberation the UFC finally announce that Iaquinta will Main Event against Khabib Nurmagomedov.

It's been a fun night all-in-all, despite the disapproving sigh I get from my wife whilst checking the Ipad on the couch.

G'Night!
