Day 2
Hello, this is sunday 25.3.28, the second day in Uganda.
We woke up at short past eight by a sound of a children- and drumchoir in the distance from the village. It was a very pleasant sound.
After breakfast (it is very european: toast, peanutbutter, eggs, tomato-lattice, melons and annanas) we went to church.
Our group (we are about 20 europeans) were the only white people in the church.

We were asked to mix up and I found a free space in the front in the middle of a group of young girls. They were all very unsecure, as we were too.

At lunch (also a very european meal with barbequed meat and baken banana and some sweet potato (very delicious)) we talked in our group about money. This lunch is 20000 Uganda-Schiling/about 5 €. A usual worker in Uganda earns 10000 Uganda-Schiling a day – the half of the worth of the money we spend for this meal. So they work hard every day just to feed up their own mouths. If they are ill, they even cannot effort to eat.
We talked about how to help them. One of our people (Jörg) said that he has talked with a fisher. He asked the fisher to buy a net, so he can get more fishes. The fisher answered, that he cannot effort the net (about 50 €). Jörg said, that it would pay off, but the people here don't think in this way. Even if we gave him the 50 €, the fisher would spend it elsewhere. A lot of them are not used to think into the future nor are used to plan something. They just hadn't learn it. One idea in "Vision for Africa" is, to teach chess to the children, so that they get used to think strategical. I think it is a good idea.
Here is our entrance from "Vision for Africa".

Here is a picture of a baptism. The choir sang an african song – it is very impressing.

The most impressing thing today is to see the friendly and nice mood of these people. As I am white person I feel always watched. And when I meet their eyes they start to smile and to say hello. This openes is a little bit like we have to Karneval in Germany, but here it is a ground attitude and they are not drunken. In Germany the most of us are allways busy and don't rise the eyes from our smartphone nor talk to strangers.
