Pete has been wanting to do an episode on the situation with the Uighur population in northwest China so he invited Bird from the Friends Against Government podcast. Bird did his thesis for his political science degree on the history of the conflict and lays out a timeline of over 100 years leading up to Xi Jinping's decision to escalate China's heavy-handed domestic policy into the Xinjiang province.
