ULOG: How Mom's Know

in ulog-mama •  5 years ago

Every once in a while I amaze my children with my "knowing" skills.

"How did you know?" They ask. Wondering how I knew that they used their uniform shirt as a napkin, or didn't put their socks away, or ate ice cream, or finished the snacks that were supposed to last all week.

I tell them it is because I am a witch, and a psychic and because I know everything.

Of course, I know because I see the grease marks on the shirt, and the clean napkin, or because I see the socks still laying there, or because the snacks are gone and there are wrappers everywhere. Maybe it's the dirty ice cream dishes sitting in the sink.

They haven't quite realized that the one who cleans up is the one who knows.

I wonder when they will start taking the trash all the way to the dumpster themselves. Or washing their dishes, and drying them, and putting them away.

Would I miss the ice cream if there was no container in the trash can and all the dishes were clean?

Sometimes, its a little funnier and easier to tell, like today.

My son "accidentally" of course (even though he did it with the door open and I happened to walk by when there was a big smile on his face and he was making the mess) peed all over the toilet an all over the floor.

Since we are at his dad's house, I took the easy way out: I yelled down to my husband and asked him to please give my son a little talk about keeping the bathroom clean and pick up his mess.

I busied myself with life... and a little later, asked my son if he had cleaned up his mess.

"Of course Mommy! But don't go look!"

Gee, how ever did I know that there was a bathroom clean up coming my way?

It must be because I am psychic...

Lol... All children can be funny. Its the same all over the world. Like in the African elders would say, 'can any adult claim that they never acted like kids'.? Lol... We all have been once guilty once.
