ULOG: Day 5: Procrastination, Programming, and Procuring StuffsteemCreated with Sketch.

I took too long to get to my ulog today, so now I'm gonna have to keep it short.

No spectacular sunrise this morning, just a cold, clear dawn. Drove our truck to see what neat junk I could get from the hangar.

After talking to a coworker about his water rate going up about 10%, I thought about rain barrels. Turns out they're legal now in Colorado, so I went to our mechanics to see if they had any barrels. Sure enough, they had plenty. But as payment for them I had to make a pair of fake tickets for a flight to the Caribbean. They'll be replaced with real ones of course, but our mechanic didn't want his wife to see the charge in the bank account yet.

So I whipped up a pair of tickets for him and I set all the information as accurate as possible. I even made up a clever holiday reservation code: MRYXM5. He really appreciated it and even loaded the barrels into my truck for me. They used to contain AFFF, a fire suppression solution, so I'll have to get them all cleaned out. Once they are, I can start collecting rain to make it easier to water my plants and hopefully start producing food more sustainably.

Then I had to clean out a check in counter. I found some really old PCs, and the cabinet was full of shop towels, trash bags, a couple neck pillows, a fencing shirt, and several other odds and ends. Oh, and a pot lid? I think I have a pot that it'll fit on too! I don't know how many years these have been there. And I saw a nearly empty soda can that appeared to not have been opened at all. How did that happen?!

After that my day was pretty uneventful until I left. On my drive home I listened to the #gridcoin chat where they talked about the shortcomings of our current crypto trading environment as a means to pay for goods and services. And after that I got to coding.

In my code endeavor tonight, I'm going over the basics of Android development. This isn't new material for me, but I've finally decided to transition from Eclipse to Android Studio.

It's not a total waste however. I'm learning a fair amount more about Intents any other things, and the interface is both tricky and more smooth.

Unfortunately that's all I have for tonight. I'll check in tomorrow work hopefully something awesome!
