Hello my ulog friends,
Good day to all, the weather is clear today. That made me feeling excited when I woke up. While making myself a hot cup of coffee to perk me up I can't resist the thought to go outside and see the bitter gourds which I covered on my previous ulog. Maybe a new bud had blossomed or the fruits got better now that they are protected from the sap sucking insects. I took a few bite of my morning toast and followed that with coffee. I hurriedly went to the pocket garden.

I saw a few bugs crawling on the vines and leaves but none on the bitter gourds. I was thinking that maybe the paper I wrapped them with could be effective. Perhaps they could not smell or detect the fruits anymore so they are now crawling on the leaves with no sap to suck.

There are some beetles but I do not think they like the sap. In general I was satisfied with the result of my own experiment. Now I am certain these fruits will reach their maturity and avoid getting sucked by the bugs. Base on my observation, fruits will not grow big, will turn brown or yellowish, or will just drop to the ground if the bugs will continue to pester them. I guess that's it for now. The vibrant green color of the leaves and the light yellow blossoms are so invigorating to look at.
