Ginataang Laing in Tagalog words or Dried Taro Leaves.This a famous recipe in the Philippines especially at Bicol Region by which this recipe was originated. This is a Bicol specialty and favorite menu. Ginataang Laing is made up of Taro leaves, with coconut milk and added by dried fish but some people used pork belly.

Last night I make this recipe for our dinner. I love to cook foods at home than buying and eating outside. For me, the homemade recipe is the best. I bought everything in Supermarket after my off in my work such as dried taro leaves for only 5 AED and the ingredients needed for this recipe.

Here are the ingredients needed:

  • Dried Taro leaves
  • Coconut milk
  • Dried fish and shrimp
  • Salted shrimp ( Sibling)
  • Black pepper
  • Garlic, onion, minced ginger
  • Green chili

My homemade delicious and yummy ginataang taro leaves " laing"

To prepare this recipe:

  • Prepare the cooking pot.
  • Add little cooking oil.
  • Saute the garlic, onion, minced ginger.
  • Add the sliced dried fish, shrimp and 1 spoon full salted shrimp, mixed together.
  • Add the coconut milk and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Add the dried taro leaves don't stir and simmer until it becomes inexhaustible broth.
  • Add again the coconut milk and simmer until it dry.
  • Add the green chili, black pepper cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Take from the cooking pot and serve hot.
